Default So, people have stopped playing AB.

Barring ZQ days, the outposts are now abandoned all day every day. This makes me a sad panda.

why not make it 8v 8 instead of 12v12?(mean both sides need 4 players less each)
maps might be too big tho then, maybe make a permanent speedboost for everyone, while capping that battle shrine increases the boost?

1) Add bigger rewards
2) 12 players party size, so no more chance to get on your side 8 idiots
3) ???
4) Profit

Just buff the rewards. We all know what happened when they did it for JQ.

Your ally's fault too, really, taking up all the good players then just beating down everyone else till they quit.

Buff rewards, quit messing with the map. Build it and they will come.

suxon syncin all day long killed it for me because i did not fancy fighting with 8 random baddies 24/7 - can't really tank 2 teams anymore as you used to be able to.

oh and asslands suck.

Rewards are on par with FA/JQ since the introduction of Imperial Faction. But I'm pretty sure that people haven't AB'd for the rewards in a long time, they did AB because it was fun.

For me, sync'ing played a big part in killing AB. Was never fun having your team plus 2 teams of random baddies against 2 or 3 organised and sync'ed teams. Funny though, the same shitters that sync'ed AB have gone on to sync FA. How long til they kill that...

I think that the fluxes didn't help either, before they were introduced it was still slightly healthy. Now its dead. It is sad

OK, first of all, syncing only bothered me before because all my allies was shit and nobody knew what they where doing. That's basically why you probably hate syncing too. Cause you got no good people to sync with, and that makes it hard to win VS a group of people who, well know what they are doing.

Syncing didn't kill AB, because only a few really did sync. I played tons of AB, and I am only in AB guilds anyways, now FA guilds because nobody plays AB. AB was slowly dying, we all saw that. Especially when I logged on in the mornings there was nobody there, maybe one person. And last time I was there was when it was the ZQ and actually, there was still nobody there.

In AB there's certain people who are good who play it, and they usually team up. They actually rarely synced, lots of times they where just lucky to get good allies. If you asked some of the good groups to sync they would only say yes if you could sync, if there wasn't enough groups on each side. Also we'd always swap sides to fill spots where nobody wanted to play. And it wasn't fun, but the people needed somebody to fight against.

I dunno what to say, the good people kept trying to keep AB alive, and it just didn't work. And now it's completely dead.

if they buff rewards for AB then JQ/FA will become dead again. That's an situation that's impossible to solve. You can either have AB dead or JQ/FA dead.

Really sorry to hear this. AB is the by far best format of low end pvp. It's a format where people of all skill levels can play together and all can have fun at the same time. There was never any degenerate meta plaguing the format and variation was the name of the game. You could have fun making up teambuilds and you could pug with strangers and have a laugh. Less able players could still be very valuable by focusing on avoiding deaths and killing npcs/capping shrines only. It was fun for everyone and for people interested in learning something or improving I can think of no better format.

If the choice is AB vs FA/JQ it should be rather easy to see what the best option is.

This... For me, obviously, what ruined it is :
- map not changing
- relying too much on 3 teams( you can't have 2 good teams and 1 bad one), quite harsh for a semi random format
- reward not consequent

Besides, JQ and FA offer a too good reward for what is involved. To make a link with costume brawl thread, i just think that we need a main organized PvP format in fact that would replace all semi-empty formats that we already have.... it's kinda going to nowhere having 8 players in HA, 9 in AB, 3 in Codex, 6 awaiting GvG opponent for example....

You are correct. And the correct response is that JQ/FA should be dead.

Allow random parties to form again in AB so people can just jump in randomly if they want.

Last time I played AB was earlier this year and I noticed that the entire playerbase is basically just a few guild teams and the occasional pug. I doubt they are syncing. They just get paired up due to the lack of any other teams.

The reason why AB is always on Ancestral Lands is because most of these guild teams play on the luxon side and also that the people who find their way to the kurzick side just suck. Notice that on AB double weekend the map goes all the way into luxon territory? That's because all of the good kurzicks leave FA/JQ to come AB. Outside of double weekends, the players on the luxon side are just better. Simple as that. All the good kurzicks are busy elsewhere. If you want the maps to start changing, you're gonna have to lure the good players back to the kurzick side and that can only happen with rewards. Currently, I don't believe that the rewards are in line with the length of the match and the time it takes forming teams and developing builds and strategies. AB is more complex than FA/JQ, the rewards should be greater. Don't just increase the faction. Introduce a new form of rewards (that aren't titles because that'll kill AB). Something like strongboxes.

FA won't die. Even when the rewards were crap there was still a decent amount of people playing it. Increasing the rewards for AB may or may not hurt JQ. The way I see it is that JQ (and FA) is for those who want to play by themselves and AB is for the team players. This is not to say that FA and JQ require no team coordination but you get what I mean. This is why I'm not convinced that JQ will die if AB rewards are buffed. There are already people who enjoy JQ and I doubt they will leave it just for the rewards. After all, FA didn't die when JQ got buffed. The rewards in FA were less than those of JQ but people still played it. AB died because the rewards are considerably lower than those of FA and JQ if you take into account time and it's complexity. Bringing it in line should make all three formats playable.
